The Narcotics Control Board (NACOB) has seized 5,851 compressed slabs of cannabis in a swoop at the Tema port.
According to reliable sources, this seizure is perhaps one of the biggest narcotics busts in Ghana’s history.
The £29.2 million worth of cannabis was to be smuggled into the United kingdom.
Two suspects have so far been arrested in connection with the bust, while a third one is on the run.
The suspects Dominic Kojo Amenyo Osae and Akotua were both arrested at the scene as they were handling the yams.
The third and main suspect, Bright, a freight forwarder is on the run.
